2025 Toyota Camry Lineup

At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Toyota revealed a car that will likely impact more lives than any other new vehicle. By this, we refer to the debut of the 9th generation of the Toyota Camry, which has been the nation’s best-selling sedan for the past 21 years. Also revealed was the Crown Signia, an SUV version of the Crown sedan that is already a familiar sight in the Valley Hi Toyota showroom.

Camry goes 100% Hybrid

Toyota was asked about its limited showing of electric cars compared to other manufacturers. Toyota’s CEO responded that there was a relatively limited amount of lithium readily available. His stance is that the reduction of carbon is more effectively accomplished by having a little bit of lithium in millions of hybrid vehicles rather than a large amount of lithium in fewer EVs. Making good on the point, the 2025 Camry will join the Venza, Sienna, and of course, the Prius, in having every model equipped with a hybrid drivetrain which promises to put considerably more hybrids on the road.

The new Camry pairs a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine with the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System to produce 225 net horsepower. Available for the first time ever, will be a Camry Hybrid, available with the Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system. For that model, the drivetrain output is increased to 232 horsepower. It is too early for EPA mileage estimates, but we can get a clue from the current Camry hybrid with the same general arrangement, which gets 51 city, 23 highway, and 52 combined.

In styling, the biggest change is in the front, where the Camry adopts the styling language introduced on the latest Corolla and Prius. Much of the rest of the body carries over, but the interior is also completely redesigned. The center display, which is 12.3 inches on XLE and XSE models, is integrated into a horizontal upper section of the dash that stretches to incorporate the passenger vent. The side door trim spreads to the dash for a cohesive, integrated appearance. All models will have Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0, and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert will now be standard on all models.

2025 Toyota Crown Signia

Introducing the Crown Signia

The current Crown sedan has a raised ride height, so a long-roof follow-up model is a logical extension. Naturally, it appears as a Crown wagon, resulting in a very handsome vehicle. Like the new Camry, all models will have a hybrid drivetrain, this time pairing the 2.5-liter engine with three electric motors for a total of 243 horsepower and an estimated combined MPG of 36 with standard all-wheel drive. It will be available as a 3-row SUV.

All Crown Signia models will feature TSS 3.0, a 12.3-inch center screen, a digital driver’s display, and offer an expansive 6.5-foot long cargo area with the 2nd-row seats folded down. Available features include a panoramic sunroof, premium leather seating, and 21-inch wheels.
