Toyota Camry Parked 3/4 Front View in a Parking Garage

For 21 straight years, there are a few things we could all count on. Taxes, annoying political campaign advertisements, and the Toyota Camry being the best-selling midsize sedan in America. With great looks, excellent safety features, luxury or sport suspension, and your choice of gas and hybrid engines, the Toyota Camry is able to appeal to many different kinds of drivers.

Safety

All Toyota Camry models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which features Pre-Collision Warning with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert and Lane Tracing Assist, Automatic High Beams, Road Sign Assist, as well as optional Radar Guided Cruise Control. Thanks to such high safety standards, the 2023 Toyota Camry has been awarded the coveted Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and has received the Top Safety Pick award every year since 2012.

Engines

Camrys come standard with Front-wheel drive but can be optioned with All-wheel drive when selecting the 4-Cylinder models. Your choice of engines consists of a 2.5-liter Dynamic Force 4-Cylinder, 3.5-liter V6, or a Hybrid motor. The standard 2.5-liter produces 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, while the V6 motor puts out 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. If you opt for the Hybrid model, the 2.5-liter Dynamic Force 4-Cylinder is paired with an electric motor that is able to achieve a total of 208 horsepower. Gas-engined models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the Hybrid is mated to an ECVT.

Fuel Economy

The EPA estimates that with the non-Hybrid 2.5-liter Camry, you can achieve up to 28 mpg city and 39 mpg highway with Front-wheel drive, or 25 city and 34 highway, respectively, with All-wheel drive models. The V6 can get up to 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. The Camry LE Hybrid is able to get up to 51 mpg city and 53 mpg highway, while SE, XLE, and XSE Hybrid models will get up to 44 city and 47 highway.
