2026 Toyota C-HR

Performance

The battery-electric propulsion system starts with a drive motor at each eAxle. This all-wheel drive system is rated at a combined 338 horsepower. It is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in around five seconds.

A 74.7-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery “fuels” the two motors, along with an 11-kilowatt onboard AC charger. All charging is done through a NACS port, which makes it compatible with Level Three DC Fast Charging at thousands of high-speed public charging stations across North America. Under ideal conditions, the 2026 C-HR can recoup 10-80% of energy in around 30 minutes at higher-rated charging stations.

Public charging is also made easier with Plug & Charge. It enables you to recharge your 2026 C-HR through automatic identification, authentication, and authorization at selected charging networks. You just need one mobile app to do this for you.

For better charging year-round, a battery preconditioning function optimizes the temperature of the battery pack for improved fast charging during the colder months. You can set this automatically or manually. In addition, the steering-wheel-mounted paddles can adjust the energy regeneration rate back to the battery through braking.

Built on the e-TNGA platform, the 2026 C-HR’s battery pack is located under the cabin’s floor for a low center of gravity. The battery pack is surrounded by a cross-framing structure for overall vehicle rigidity. In addition to the dedicated platform’s fundamental strength, rigidity, and agility, the suspension parts have been precisely tuned for the 2026 C-HR, including spring and damper performance and the stiffness of the anti-roll bars.  

Exterior

The 2026 C-HR follows a different kind of design path this time around. It is now a coupe-crossover design. At 177.9 inches long, the compact size is great for fitting into many parking spaces. Also, the 108.3-inch wheelbase provides a smooth, solid ride to complement great cabin space.

Up front is Toyota’s signature hammerhead front end. This flows seamlessly towards a sloping roofline and angular rear end. Even at 63.8 inches tall, it is still a sleek look that turns heads anywhere you take the 2026 C-HR.

Interior

Inside the 2026 C-HR is a clean and open design. That starts with a slim driver’s display with an easy-to-access center console. Storage is abundant, including one underneath the center console itself. For an added touch, it also has customizable ambient lighting for setting just the right mood.

High-back bucket seats accommodate the driver and passenger up front. In all, you have comfortable seating for up to five. SE models come upholstered in a combination of fabric and SofTex, while XSE models offer seats in SofTex and suede materials. Rear seats also include LATCH tethering for child seats. Rear passengers also get their own air conditioning controls. A panoramic roof is available that is large enough to give you a clear view of the sun and the moon above.  

Cargo space is measured up to 25.4 cubic feet of rear cargo space behind the rear seats. The rear seats fold down for more capacity to take home more than you expected while on a road trip or on a big shopping spree.

Technology

A large 14-inch touchscreen on top of the center stack runs the Toyota Audio Multimedia system. This system also features wireless smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The driver has a fully digital gauge cluster in front of them. There are dual Qi wireless chargers in the center console, as well as rear cabin USB-C ports, keeping your devices ready at all times.

Safety

All 2026 C-HR models come equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. Features include Pre-Collision Braking System, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Blind Spot Monitor, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lead Vehicle Start Alert, Hill Assist Control (HAC), Smart Stop Technology (SST), Lane Departure Warning with Sway Warning, Automatic High Beams, and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking. Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and a Panoramic View Monitor are added to XSE models. 

All models can be equipped with the ultimate peace of mind. Connected Services includes a one-year trial to Safety Connect with an Emergency Assistance Button and Enhanced Roadside Assistance. Buyers can also get a one-year trial to Remote Connect, which allows owners to use the Toyota smartphone app or smartwatch to control certain aspects of their car, including locking and unlocking the doors, starting the car, and locating its parking location. You will even be able to check the status of the 2026 C-HR and check in on guest drivers.
