2026 Toyota Sienna

Performance

All 2026 Sienna models feature a hybrid drivetrain consisting of a 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve inline-four engine combined with two front electric motors for front-wheel drive models (FWD) and a third rear-mounted motor on AWD models, eliminating the need for a driveshaft to transfer power to the rear wheels. The motors receive energy from a sealed Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) battery, and all power is controlled by a continuously variable transmission. Total system power is 245 horsepower and is rated as a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV). AWD is available for every grade and standard on the Woodland Edition.  

Given how well electrification fits a minivan’s mission of grocery trips, taking kids to school and school activities, picking up items from the home improvement store, and so on, it is no wonder that the 2026 Sienna has an all-hybrid model line. These in-town driving tasks are where hybrid drivetrains truly shine, with an EPA-estimated 36 mpg (35 mpg with AWD). With its vast amount of space for people and things, the Sienna is a road-trip vehicle that eases travel costs.  

The 2026 Sienna is equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension, featuring MacPherson struts up front and a rear multi-link arrangement. Brakes are generously sized with 12.9-inch ventilated front rotors and 12.5-inch ventilated rear rotors.  

Exterior

The 2026 Sienna is designed to break the mold of past minivans. Its proportions begin with a sleek, pointed front end and notable contouring that leads to the rear wheels, where reflective highlights seamlessly transition into the taillights’ LED bars (available on XLE and above grades). The unbroken privacy-glass window treatment, extending from the A-pillars to the D-pillars, gives a clean, sleek appearance. Depending on the grade, you will find 17-, 18-, or 20-inch alloy wheels, as well as black or chrome roof rails with matching trim and badges.   

Dual power sliding side doors are standard on all models, with a hands-free opening feature standard on several grades. A power tilt/slide moonroof with sunshade is available or standard on all models.

Interior

The inside of the 2026 Sienna shines brightly with a multitude of standard and available features. Standard seating accommodates eight, but you can opt for seven seats with second-row captain’s chairs. On the Platinum grade, those captain’s chairs become leather-covered recliners with built-in ottomans to rest your feet. Across the model line, seating surfaces range from fabric to easy-to-clean SofTex (with accent stitching) to leather, including a striking Macadamia and Black combination. An eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat is standard, with heated and ventilated functions for both front seats added on upper grades. Second-row heated captain’s chairs are also available. Tri-zone automatic climate control is standard, with a four-zone option available on upper grades. Standard on the Platinum and available on the Limited is a vacuum, and a FridgeBox is built into the front console.   

Behind the third row is 33.5 cubic feet of cargo space. The third-row seat is split 60/40, allowing you to seat one or two people while still expanding your cargo space. With the entire third row folded into the floor, there is 75.2 cubic feet of space. Turn the Sienna into a two-seater, and you have a 101-cubic-foot warehouse behind you. If you are more interested in what you can carry behind your Sienna, all grades are rated to tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Technology

The Sienna LE features an 8.0-inch touchscreen, while XLE and above grades have a large 12.3-inch center screen. The vehicle features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a USB media port, and six USB charge ports to keep everyone’s phones and devices charged. XSE and above grades also have a configurable 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster for the driver. Naturally, hands-free phone capability and music streaming via Bluetooth are available, and SiriusXM is available with a 3-month trial subscription.   

Because the Sienna’s cabin is big and can accommodate eight people, a useful available feature is Driver Easy Speak, in which, with the push of a button, the driver’s words will come through all the cabin’s speakers. You never have to yell again just to be heard. Another useful available feature is the 1500W outlet in the rear, which can provide power for a laptop or other devices when parked.   

The audio system starts with a six-speaker setup for the LE, increasing to eight speakers for the XLE, and topping out on Woodland Edition, Limited, and Platinum grades with a standard twelve-speaker JBL audio system featuring a powered subwoofer. Also available in these grades is the Entertainment Package, which includes a drop-down 1080p HD 11.6-inch display, HDMI input, remote, and two wireless headphones.  

Safety and Driver Awareness

All Sienna grades come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of safety and driver assistance technologies, including:  

• Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection  

• Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control   

• Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist  

• Lane Tracing Assist  

• Automatic High Beams  

• Road Sign Assist  

Additional standard features include ten airbags, a blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert (to assist with backing out of parking spots), and front and rear parking assist with automatic braking (available on XLE and above models). New for 2026 is the Advanced Rear Seat Reminder sensor, which uses 60GHz band millimeter-wave radar to scan the second and third row seats for potential movement. If movement is detected and the driver’s door has been opened, then closed, and the vehicle has been locked, the Sienna will alert the driver to check the rear seat.
