​​2026 Brings Small But Notable Enhancements to the Sequoia​

A year after the launch of the all-new Tundra, Toyota introduced the third-generation Sequoia, which was built on the same platform. Changes have been minor since then, but 2026 brings some notable updates to the model line. Valley Hi Toyota sums it up for you.  

At the very top of the model lineup, the Capstone now features a redesigned interior with Shale Premium Textured leather-trimmed seats, creating an even more upscale atmosphere. These seats showcase a distinctive diamond pattern on perforated leather in a refined light grey, accented by bold baseball mitt leather insert stripes running down the middle of the lumbar and seat cushion areas. Additionally, the seats include an integrated massaging function that can be customized for upper, lower, or both body regions, with various intensities. 

Further down the model trim hierarchy, the Limited grade now features standard leather seating surfaces. The leather options include black with white contrast stitching or grey with black contrast stitching. Moving to the entry-level SR5 model, power-folding third-row seats are now standard across the entire model line.  

For those who appreciate bold colors for their vehicles, the TRD Pro is now available in a Wave Maker exterior that is a very striking aqua blue. 

As has become increasingly common among Toyota model lines, all Sequoia trim levels remain hybrids. Every Sequoia is powered by a twin-turbo V6 hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain that delivers 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque. The Sequoia is not only the only fully hybrid model line in its class but also currently the only one to offer a hybrid drivetrain at all.  

This offers 82 more horsepower and 200 lb-ft of peak torque compared to the Chevrolet Tahoe’s standard V8 engine, and 37 more horsepower along with 103 more lb-ft of torque than the Expedition’s twin-turbo V6. It still achieves 20 combined MPG with 4WD (RWD models get 22 combined MPG). These factors contribute to a standard towing capacity of 9,020 pounds for the Sequoia, versus 7,700 pounds for the Tahoe and 6,000 pounds for the Expedition.
