Can a Toyota Tundra with the i-FORCE Engine Go Over 200,000 Miles?

April 15th, 2025 by

Pickup trucks are known to return hundreds of thousands of miles. Achieving exceedingly high mileage shows how durable and strong the engines, drivelines, and the pickup trucks themselves are over time and use. Toyota pickups have reputations for delivering on durability. There had been reports of Tundras hitting a million or more miles. Even Tacomas and older Toyota pickup trucks have seen 500,000 miles—and beyond—on their odometers.

What about our latest Toyota pickup truck models? Are they as durable as their predecessors? Recently, TheDrive.com website reported that a 2022 Toyota Tundra in the Tampa Bay area hit 210,000 miles with its original i-FORCE V6 engine. Delivered in July of 2022, the owner averaged over 100,000 miles a year, putting in an average of 300 miles per day over the course of over two years. The Tundra was traded in last October.

Based on the Tundra’s CARFAX report, it only had one repair performed to replace a fuel hose at 162,000 miles. Otherwise, the owner had the Tundra in at Toyota dears across the U.S. for routine maintenance, including fluid changes and tire rotations. The website posted photos of this high-mileage Tundra, which showed it in “remarkable shape” with no signs of damage inside or out.

That is a remarkable story. As we said before, Toyotas can deliver unmatched reliability and durability—especially these new-generation i-FORCE engines, including the hybrid versions. They will go the distance and beyond, just like all other Toyota engines and drivelines before.
