​​Introducing the All-Electric​ 2027 Toyota Highlander 

The Toyota Highlander has been part of our lineup since 2000. It introduced consumers to a larger SUV that can carry more than a RAV4 but still offers the utility to bring families together, along with a car-like ride. It is also one of the first Toyota SUVs to gain a hybrid driveline. Twenty-six years and four generations later, Toyota starts a new chapter with its popular mid-size SUV. One that is completely electrified. 

The 2027 Highlander will be a battery-electric, three-row SUV that combines modern styling and roomy accommodations, deepening the pathway towards our Beyond Zero future. The design follows the lead of the 2026 bZ and bZ Woodland, with sharper lines and a more squared-off rear area. This is made to maximize headroom and cargo utilization.  

Inside is a three-row interior for up to seven passengers. You can also load up to 45 cubic feet of cargo with the third-row seats down. The technology offers have been raised with a new 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen display. The driver gets their information from a new 12.3-inch display. Ample charging ports and ambient lighting make the new 2027 Highlander one to live with for everyone on board.  

The 2027 Highlander features either a 77.0-kilowatt-hour or 95.8-kilowatt-hour battery pack. Both are recharged through a native NACS port. That will enable the 2027 Highlander to be charged at more DC Fast Charging stations across North America – especially here in Southern California. Dual-motor all-wheel drive models are estimated to achieve a maximum range of 320 miles based on manufacturer testing. 

When equipped, the 2027 Highlander is capable of Vehicle-to-Load bi-directional charging. This enables your SUV to power external devices or serve as a backup power source in case of an emergency.   

Standard on the 2027 Highlander is a single-motor, front-drive system with a combined 221 horsepower and 198 pound-feet of torque. Available is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive model that delivers 338 combined system horsepower and 323 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive models also add Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control.  

Safety has been enhanced by the Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 suite of driver assistance technologies. Key features include Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. 

The new 2027 Highlander will be assembled at our Georgetown, Kentucky, facility, with battery packs coming from our new North Carolina plant. Initially, XLE and Limited trim levels will be available.
