Behind the Wheel of the New 2025 Toyota 4Runner

August 20th, 2025 by

We have been waiting for the new 2025 Toyota 4Runner for quite some time. You have been asking: how does it drive? What if we said that this is the best 4Runner ever put together? We had the chance to take a beautiful Heritage Blue 2025 4Runner Limited through its paces on a road trip, experiencing long highway stretches and time off the beaten path.

The 2025 4Runner Limited is one of several 2025 4Runner trim levels available. Trims range from the can-do-everything SR5 to the desert-running TRD Pro to the overlanding mastermind Trailhunter.

The Limited is available with the i-FORCE turbo engine in either rear- or full-time four-wheel drive. It is also available with the i-FORCE MAX turbocharged hybrid driveline. The Limited we tested was powered by the i-FORCE 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, along with full-time four-wheel drive.

We decided upon Santa Barbara as our destination. Since we had a luxurious 4Runner, we would of course focus on luxury for this trip. From the dealership, the trip was 183 miles each way. The navigation system that is part of the 14.0-inch Audio Multimedia touchscreen helped us to get around major back-ups and gave us a quicker time to get to our hotel—just blocks from the Pacific Ocean. The navigation system came in handy many times during our trip. All you have to do is ask the system through the voice recognition feature.

The tunes kept on coming in the 2025 4Runner Limited. JBL provides a total of 14 speakers, including the JBL FLEX speaker that pops out of the dashboard. Connected by Bluetooth, your beach, desert, or mountain excursions will be rocking—or rolling.

The Limited delivers luxury with leather-trimmed seating. The front seats are heated and ventilated, great for year-round comfort anywhere in this grand state of California. Dual-zone climate control is beneficial for anyone trying to fight for the temperature knob. Rear seat passengers get their own vents, too. You can have a third-row seat if you need to bring people along for the ride.

The cargo area swallowed a lot of bags, a couple of beach chairs, and more. You can also throw more things into the rear cargo area by using the power rear window. It is convenient without needing to open up the liftgate. If you have to open up the liftgate, you can load up to 48.4 cubic feet and still have a comfortable space for second-row passengers. If you stack more than you should, our 2025 4Runner came with the available digital display rearview mirror to make sure you know what’s behind you.

The ride was smooth, and the brakes were great. The steering was on-point—all thanks to the TNGA-F chassis. No matter which 2025 4Runner you choose, contact us at Valley Hi Toyota to help you pick the right one that fits your lifestyle. Don’t forget, this 2025 4Runner is set to let you go places!
