Tech Journalist Delighted With New Toyota Camry Hybrid
The best-selling sedan in America, the 2025 Toyota Camry, was redesigned for 2025 with an emphasis on efficiency, performance, and comfort. It is everything you expect in a Camry and more. The tech journalist from Tom’s Guide recently had a 2025 Camry XSE AWD in for a week’s turn and was quite impressed.
He noted the “youth” oriented touches on both the exterior and interior. The sharper exterior design makes this the sportiest Camry ever. Something that reminded him of performance cars. The red/black interior of the XSE “pleasantly surprised” him as being sporty, while the dashboard was “striking.”
The technology on the Camry is second to none. The reviewer noted the backup camera inside the infotainment touchscreen: “Once you’re used to a backup camera, it’s hard to fall back to my old habit of physically turning around to see what’s behind you. The Camry’s high-quality cameras all around the car make it much more reliable to check if I’m in between parking lines, as well as backing up so that I don’t hit the car behind me.”
The head-up display was another feature that wowed this tech journalist. It helped him get the information he needed while he kept his eyes on the road. The reviewer was also impressed with the driving assistance features. He called out the Camry’s Full Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. In his words, he appreciated how they “enhance my driving in the event I’m not as attentive.” He also mentioned the remainder of the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of safety features.
When you get into the Camry XSE, you are treated to a host of luxury features. One such feature that was called out was the panoramic glass roof. He was “surprised” to see this feature in his tester. He said that “[e]ven though it’s technically broken up into two panels, this allows the front glass to open completely or vent a little bit if you don’t want too much drag while driving. Either way, it adds to the car’s premium aesthetics — and makes for a distraction for your rear passengers.”
What really impressed the Tom’s Guide tech journalist was the Camry’s fuel economy. In a 232-mile loop, he earned a short-range fuel economy figure of 76.7 MPG. On a long-distance drive, he saw 43.3 MPG. The Environmental Protection Agency rated the 2025 Camry XSE AWD to achieve 44 MPG based on combined city/highway driving.
He summed up his time in the 2025 Camry XSE AWD with, “It’s a hybrid worth considering if EVs are still too expensive for your budget. And, of course, you get Toyota’s legendary reliability and extra resell value.”
The 2025 Camry’s all-hybrid lineup has four trim levels available, with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive on every model. If you think the Camry is the right sedan for you, contact us at Valley Hi Toyota. We would love to show you everything about the new Camry.
